With MyWay, you'll be able to go anywhere in Hastings for a standard fare of $2.00. Children under five travel will free on MyWay, and SuperGold Card holders will travel free between 9:00am and 3:00pm.

You'll be able to pay for your MyWay ride by Bee Card, or by linking your credit or debit card to the MyWay Hawke’s Bay app.

Cash or card payment will not be accepted on board.

Payment options on MyWay

You can pay for MyWay by:

  • Credit or debit card in the MyWay Hawke's Bay app
  • Bee card

Cash and EFTPOS are not accepted onboard.

Pay in the app

Paying for your fare is simple with the MyWay Hawke’s Bay app. To add your credit or debit card details, tap the menu at the top left of your screen and select ‘Payment Methods’ to enter your details. Save your details and select ‘Credit Card’ as your payment method.

When you book your ride, the cost will be automatically deducted from your credit card. You don't need to do anything when you board, and the driver will be notified of your payment.

When you put your credit or debit card details into the MyWay Hawke's Bay App, your bank may take a pre-authorisation charge of $1 to validate your card. After your card is validated, this charge will be reversed (generally within 48 hours). The pre-authorisation charge only occurs once.

Pay via Bee Card

download 1Bee Card is a prepay card used across Hawke’s Bay public transport services. You can order a Bee Card online at or pick one up at the Hastings Library. Bee Cards cost $5.00 and there is a minimum top up of $10.00. Register your card at to keep your funds safe if you lose your card. You can top up online at, at the Hastings Library, or on any goBay bus.

How to pay by Bee Card:

  • On board - simply swipe your Bee Card when you board your MyWay vehicle.
  • On the app - when booking your ride through the MyWay Hawke's Bay app, tap the menu icon, select ‘Payment Methods’ from the drop-down menu, and set ‘Bee Card’ as your payment method.

You cannot pay for multiple fares using a Bee Card – each passenger must have their own card.

Special concessions

Booking for more than one person

You can book a ride for a group of people travelling to the same destination through the app, our customer service centre, or a booking service.

If you book through the app you will pay $2.00 for your fare and only $1.00 each for any additional person!

If booking for a group through the app, you can select the type of passenger (adult, child, SuperGold Card holder, or passenger with wheelchair) and whether you would like to pay for the group via the credit card linked to the app, or for your individual fare. Extra passengers can also pay for their individual fares by Bee Card when they board. You cannot pay for others with your Bee Card, they will need their own.

SuperGold Card holders

SuperGold Card holders travel free on MyWay between 9:00am and 3:00pm on weekdays and on public holidays. If you’re booking through the  MyWay Hawek's Bay app, you can select ‘SuperGold’ by tapping the menu icon in the top left corner, selecting ‘Concessions’ and then ‘SuperGold’. Just show the driver your card when boarding.

If you’re booking over the phone or through a booking service, simply present your SuperGold Card to the driver when your vehicle arrives.

DHB staff

DHB staff can travel free to and from any DHB site on MyWay If you’re booking through the app, tap the menu icon in the top left corner, select ‘Concessions’ and then ‘DHB Staff’. Just show the driver your staff ID card when boarding.

If you’re booking over the phone or through a booking service, let MyWay know you’re a DHB staff member when you book and present your staff ID to the driver when your vehicle arrives.

Healthcare patients

If you’re travelling to or from a healthcare appointment at Hastings Hospital,  you can ride FREE on MyWay - all you need to do is show the MyWay driver your appointment card. If you're booking your ride through the app, you can select 'Concessions' form the menu andf swipe right on "DHB Patient',  just for this trip.s
